Analyzing & Shaping Innovation Ecosystems Worldwide
My Research
I study how innovation ecosystems grow outside the world’s superstar cities, focusing on the connections between firms, institutions, and global value chains.
My work shows why the geography of innovation matters, and how regions can compete by plugging into global networks while building on local strengths.
I have published widely in top journals such as Journal of Economic Geography, Global Strategy Journal, and Journal of World Business, and I am currently writing a book for Oxford University Press.

Advisory
Alongside my academic work, I serve as advisor to public institutions and private firms on innovation, ecosystems, and growth.
I support the European Commission in shaping policy on entrepreneurship and industrial strategy, and I work with regional bodies to design growth strategies rooted in ecosystems thinking.
In 2015, I co founded Design on Site, a born-global firm operating
in the design and furniture industry.
